Souvenaid

Souvenaid is a unique product formulated to nutritionally support memory function in people with early Alzheimer’s Disease. Souvenaid is a once-a-day 125ml drink, available in two flavours (strawberry and vanilla).

Souvenaid contains specific levels of nutrients including omega 3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA), Uridine Monophosphate, Choline, Selenium, Folate and Vitamins, B6, B12, C and E. The levels of these nutrients in Souvenaid are very difficult to achieve from diet alone1.

People living with early Alzheimer’s disease have been shown to have lower levels of these nutrients in their bodies despite eating a normal diet. These nutrients are required to make new connections in the brain called synapses.

The loss of synapses is one of the key features of early Alzheimer’s disease. To learn more about synapses and nutrition in Early Alzheimer’s disease click here.

Patients who have taken Souvenaid every day over a number of years have displayed a slower decline in many measures of Alzheimer’s disease, including slower decline in memory loss.

  • Souvenaid is designed to be taken once daily.
  • Souvenaid is ready to drink and can be taken straight from the bottle, through a straw or poured into a glass depending on personal preference.
  • Souvenaid tastes best served chilled, so we suggest storing it in the fridge before consuming.
  • It may help to take Souvenaid at the same time each day. For example: in the morning with breakfast. This should make it easier to remember to take it each day as it will become a habit.
  • If you forget to take Souvenaid at the usual time, it is okay to take it when you remember later in the day.
  • It takes time for the nutrients to be taken up and used by the body so it is important to keep taking Souvenaid every day to ensure a continuous and adequate supply of important nutrients.
  • Souvenaid is intended to be used in addition to a healthy diet and any other dietary and lifestyle plan provided by your healthcare professionals as part of your brain-health care-plan. Souvenaid is not intended to replace what you usually eat.

  • Souvenaid can be stored at room temperature, however as Souvenaid tastes best when chilled, it is recommended to store it in the fridge for at least 3-4 hours before drinking.
  • Please note the ‘use by’ date indicated on the bottle.
  • Once opened, a bottle of Souvenaid should be closed, kept in the fridge and consumed within 24 hours.
  • We recommend drinking an entire bottle of Souvenaid at once to ensure that the correct amount is taken each day.

Souvenaid is a nutrition drink, described as a Food for Special Medical Purposes, and therefore the effects of Souvenaid are not instant. It takes time for the nutrients in Souvenaid to build up and be used by the body.
