Optri Bottle Comes to the 1 Litre Nutrison Packs

As the successful transfer of the Nutricia 500mls pouches to Optri bottle, is due to be completed, Nutricia is pleased to announce that existing 1 litre pouches of Nutrison will be moving to the new OpTri bottle from March 2019.

OpTri bottle Nutrison

The OpTri bottle has been designed, in collaboration with healthcare professionals, patients and carers, for better usability, better safety and a better planet.

What has improved with the introduction of new OpTri bottle?

Better Usability
• Non-detachable flip top cap
• Hanging hook built into the base of the OpTri bottle with a ‘big eye’ to make hanging easy
• Self standing, semi-translucent bottle to see how much feed has been fed
• Collapsible bottle with easy to handle shape
• Compatible with all UK and Ireland giving sets (40mm cap and EnPlus fitting)

Better Safety:
• Non-detachable flip-top cap – for hygiene reasons, prevention of swallowing, and ISO safety compliance

Better Planet:
• Made from recyclable plastic
• Manufactured using 21% lower CO2 emissions and 85% less water than the pouches1

What is changing?

The order codes and outer case dimensions will change. Additionally, the OpTri 1 litre bottle does not suitably hang when added to the existing Z frame directly, therefore, all patients using the Z frame will be provided a white z hook to facilitate placing the feed on the stand correctly. Please note if patients are using the go frame they will not need a white z hook and can place the feed into the frame as normal.

What do you need to do to be ready to use the new OpTri version of the feed?

If you use a Go Frame: If you use a Z-Stand: Z-Hook, Z-Stand & OpTri bottle:
Go Frame
The new OpTri bottle will fit so you don’t need to do anything
Z hook
You will need a Z-Hook, which will be sent to you from Nutricia Homeward
Z Stand

What remains the same?

The nutritional composition and price of all products will remain the same. Also, the OpTri bottle continues to be fully compatible with the Flocare range of giving sets and ancillaries.

Timelines for change

Tube feed products with the new 1 litre OpTri bottle will be available from March 2018. Each different tube feed variant will switch to OpTri bottle on a rolling basis and we anticipate that it will take approximately one year for the full range to transfer over. Please note there could be a period of time when both existing pouches and new bottles will be available on the market depending on stock levels.
